It’s an unspoken rule of the bigtop headquarters that you make coffee, you clean up.

Lauren is on holiday and I have been at home feeding all the baby birds in the garden.

The boys have a) turned off Woman’s hour and re-tuned the radio to Fox FM and b) let the high bigtop cleanliness standards go to pot and allowed the kitchen to grow black suff all round the sink.

A written warning is arriving in their in-boxes as I type. I’m not having it, they are pushing the boundaries. Do you know, they like to work wearing mankinis when we’re not here …
