The mood in the office is good. It’s Friday. Teena Marie and Rick James will be round soon as it’s going to be time to funk. In fact, they’re probably just driving into Bicester now. If you see them in a beige 1986 Austin Maestro, give them a wave.  I’m just popping out to buy a beer for me and Daniel. Probably buy a bottle of Malibu for Teena and Rick while I’m there.

This afternoon at bigtop, something exciting happened. I donned my labcoat, specs and industrial strength gloves and stepped into the kitchen. Feeling a sense of pressure upon my shoulders I began to create a new hot beverage… One that had never before been tasted by human tastebuds! Oh, no, you won’t find one of these on the menu next time you step into the Fat Duck. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you THE COFFTEA!!

I split open two tea bags into the thingybob where you put the ground coffee and then topped up with coffee as usual before allowing the hot water to pass through. Surely we were onto a winner!? Unfortunately the resulting juice tasted somewhat less acceptable than we were hoping… infact the COFFTEA is almost certainly a beverage best reserved for only your worst of enemies!! You have been warned!

As if to add insult to injury I’ve since discovered that cofftea already exists!

BIG Dx

I’m at home, it’s Friday night. The security light has just come on in the garden (I’ll try not to look because there might be a bad man out there) and James has passed me a bowl of olives. He has also given me a big glass of cider and so I feel very happy. Pizzas are going in the oven and it’s a happy Friday night. We haven’t written a blog today at work because we’ve been too busy which is good. But… it’s Daniel’s birthday today and we couldn’t let that pass without a mention. Last we heard he was in his dressing gown, eating pancakes at 10 o’clock this morning, lovely.

Don’t forget the Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend. So why not put your feet up with a cup of tea, a digestive biscuit or three, your binoculars and with a smile on your face note all the dickie birds you spot.
