Lorry spotters No.1

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

This is the first in our series of exciting lorry’s. I often see interesting ones on my way to work, usually trundling down the A34. I saw one of these today – Knights of Old. What do you think? Please let me know of any you come across too for future blogs.

Tonight Matthew, I’m going to be …

For my birthday, my lovely friends Anthony and Nif sent me a mix tape in the shape of a usb which in turn is in the shape of a cassette. You may have seen one before. I haven’t, so it’s quite exciting. It is always lovely to get a parcel from Anthony and Nif, not only because a good old fashioned long letter addressed just to me will be in it, but because it’s come all the way from America and that’s a long way.

Anyway, it’s Friday and we’re listening to it at work today. It’s brilliant. It starts with a classic; The mice on the mouse organ/ we will fix it (I’m sure you know it), Antsy Pants, Johnny Flynn, Jason Lytle, Bon Iver, The Shins, etc etc.

Then, on comes Joanna Newsom. Now, James has a bit of a thing about Joanna Newsom, as does Daniel and I’m pretty sure Anthony is rather partial too.

James just thought out loud… that he would like to pretend he is Joanna Newsom playing the harp in a floaty, summer dress.

I can see him on Stars in Their Eyes, shall I get an application form?

Ranting and eating ice cream…

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

Nothing to report at the bigtop office but I’m taking a break and thought I’d leave a blog. So, here’s a bit of a rant.

Watching football:
1) that French man was naughty not shaking hands with that South African man.
2) Do you think they’re paid too much for what they do?
3) I like the eating crisps and drinking beer bit, but I tend to glaze over the all important watching bit.
4) Listening to the match on the radio is far more entertaining. I can look like I’m listening but actually be absorbed in the vintage fabric section of ebay.

Rant over. It’s a glorious day here in Bicester and this weekend sees the whole Lewis/Arnold family descend on Giffords for birthday celebrations, hooray!!

Off to get an ice cream. I love the summer.
