It’s satsuma time!!!

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010

Yes its that time of year and I think we could do with some vitamin C with all the colds going round at the moment. But which is your favorite of our orange citrus friends? Satsuma’s, clementines, Mandarins, TANGERINES? Thinking about it… why is it satsuma time in the uk’s winter months? They must be ripe somewhere else around the world I suppose. Oh no… air miles!!!! Something else to feel guilty about. Umm. This one is tasty though. From Alcocks in Summertown.

Wet Wet Wet…

It’s still raining outside and Lauren’s just popped Depeche Mode’s Songs of Faith and Devotion on the bigtop stereo. It’s good rainy day music. Dark and moody but kind of uplifting and hopeful at the same time.

I feel like i’m 13 again. I can remember when the album was first released and BIG D was just a little D. It reminds me of art class, it reminds me of a coach trip to Coventry Cathedral, it reminds me of my first almighty crush, Joanne Ward. I remember making her a cassette with this album on one side and Suede’s debut on the other. Not bad for a 13 year old. Never got me anywhere mind. A year or so later she moved to New Zealand. Never saw Joanne Ward again.

Goodbye to all that

Today we said goodbye to our trusty, old office printer.

He was big and solid, but he just didn’t get turned on much any more.

So we freecycled him and said goodbye just after 3pm.

We feel sad, but at least he might bring happiness to someone else.

I worked out that if you laid out all sheets of paper that he’s ever printed out, edge to edge, you could walk on an A3 path from Bicester all the way to …

(Daniel thought it might be New York. I guessed at the moon)

… well, you’d get to the other side of Northampton.

Impressive.
