Land’s End to John o’ Groats

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

I don’t really like asking for money, but Joe (my 13 year old son) and myself are raising cash for Action Duchenne by cycling from Land’s End to John o’ Groats in July. If you have a few spare coppers, here’s our sponsorship page:

Perhaps you could tell everyone you know about our cycle trip?

But that’s maybe being a bit cheeky.

Do you know lots of people?

I don’t.

Peeping Tom …

Monday, February 21st, 2011

No, I’ve not seen a peeping Tom but we did watch the film.

Inspired by the Culture Show’s coverage of the 50th anniversary blu-ray edition, I bought it for James for Christmas. We tried to watch it last weekend but were interrupted by a gang of teens wanting the playstation. After a weeks break, we tried again, settled on the sofa with a mug of tea and couple of ginger nuts we carried on where we left off. I’m finding it hard to describe how I felt about it. It’s not scary or shocking at all, and it’s strange to think it had such a devastating impact on the career of the director. OK, I know it’s not cool or clever to say this but it was alright. Nice colours and directing, but to be honest I fell asleep.

Don’t ask me about the other ‘arts’ film I bought for James … talk about yawning all the way through. Oh dear, I’m just not cool. Any suggestions for what we can watch next? No Richard Curtis please or James will kill himself.

Eco notes

Why not save paper by writing your notes on fruit. Its very good as long as the fruit isn’t imported from Venazuela. Fruit must be peelable or ink edible.
