Moroccan Delights

Monday, March 26th, 2012

About a month ago I visited morocco. Our surfy pals took us to stay in an area renowned for it’s great waves. We stayed in the fishing village of taghazout, north of Agadir. The waves were a bit flat apparently, but plenty big enough for me to get thrown about on my body board. That’s about as adventurous as I get. We stayed at a cool little place called surf n stay, run by a lovely Irish man who before moving to Moroccos was dairy farmer. I’d definitely like to explore more of morocco… There seems so much on offer… Dessert, mountains, skiing, magnificent cities and goats in wheelie bins…

Waste of the week 1

Thought I’d start a new feature. It’s been spurred on by the discovery of ‘Shake to Make Pancakes’ in my local Co-op this week. Surely pancakes are one of the simplest and most basic things to make without creating more plastic to recycle. It contains a dry mix which takes up about a 5th of the bottle, which you add water to and shake. HHmmm… Then what. Through the plastic bottle away. Genius. What’s become of the world.

Spring is finally here and with it comes the first crop of rhubarb. We popped the newly sprouting stems under the forcer, and just a week or so later it was ready for picking. Ummmm… I feel a crumble coming on! :)
