Olym Pics Morning

This morning General D and I rebelled against the Olympics backlash and headed down to watch the torch set of from Iffley Road, Oxford. I arrived at the ‘sponsored’ van at 7am, which pumped out trashy pop poo into my ear but must admit did look cool.


On my way round to find the General I bumped into Jez and Andy (think thats what they said) the jolly cops on bikes. They have been escorting the torch on its travels around the country and seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves. Who wouldn’t. Happy chaps.


They even let me get on their bike…


Met D and the torch flew past…

Then popped round the corner to the lovely Oxfork for chats, toast and coffee. Yumyum. A fine start to the day! Just been watching the Olympics comedy Twenty Twelve. So true it’s quite funny. And what is that unexplained traffic lane for?

You could at least put the kettle on …

As you probably know by now, James is off for a bit doing his thing.

Daniel and I are in the office today with his replacement and between you and me, we’re not that impressed. For a start he doesn’t make the coffee, he answers the phone but doesn’t say anything and all he does is stare into space while we do all the work.

I don’t think we’ll be offering him a position here. James is currently making his way to Oakhampton … we might have to put up with the stand-in for a bit longer.

I’m going …

… to cycle from Land’s End to John o’ Groats.

Friday 6th July is my last day in the office.

I won’t be back until Tuesday 21st August.
