A Bigtop wet day out …

Thursday, November 22nd, 2012

For days the weather report convinced us that Wednesday 21st November was going to be sunny. Ahem, I beg to differ. We were on the Bigtop 2012 Christmas card* photo shoot and we were outside, it was not a dry day and what’s more it was blooming freezing.

Here are Jules and Adam setting up the camera equipment in the pouring rain. As always, I can not say what we got up to this year, you will just have to be patient. However, if you happened to be at Bicester Village at around 2pm yesterday you may have spotted James and Daniel in costume buying some sandwiches in Pret. They got some funny looks apparently … I’m saying nothing.

*Last years Christmas card is missing from here, obviously we’ve been way too busy to sort that out!

Potter graphics …

Friday, November 16th, 2012

Last weekend, after many hints from certain teenagers and in a pre planned  moment of reckless excitement, I booked the Arnolds a slot at the Harry Potter Studio Tour. Have you read the books? Nor have we. Our kids just weren’t really interested at the time (shocking!).

It was brilliant and if you haven’t been, you must go! The whole thing was a bit breathtaking if I’m honest and we were all hugely impressed (even James who doesn’t really like Harry Potter). Lots to see relating to the production, from make-up and costume to set design and filming. The  graphic designers who got this top job made me quite green with envy …

Shame the films are finished. I was going to hide in a trunk and help out with the costumes.

Respect is due

Nell drove airmen around in a big Bedford truck during WW2. She also had to deliver top secret photos to Winston Churchill… cool! She’s our gran and is still here today to tell the tale. It’s Remembrance Sunday. Respect is due.
