This week we have been joined by Bethany, our work experience student. The week has zoomed past like an Electric Dream although for Bethany it may be more like The Never Ending Story. I could go on forever with the clever use of the song titles of Bethany’s choice for the Record of the Week, but that would be showing off. James dug deep in his pocket and sent her off to Oxfam with £2. This is what she came back with and speaking for myself, what an excellent choice. Sent back in time to school discos and dreaded exams, but happy thoughts too. We’ll play it often and think of lovely Bethany when we do.
A word from the girl herself:
I picked the record because I liked the bright colours and the crazy patterns on the cover and the pig looked quite cool as well.
Credit crunch nipping at your ankles? Your savings frozen in an Icelandic bank? Just lost your job? Pension plan disintegrated like crumbs in an old biscuit tin?
Fear not! Daniel has the answer – why not forget your troubles and run away to the circus. He’s just designed a lovely leaflet for the Electric Circus – a week long course at The Courtyard Youth Arts Centre in Bicester. Run by Electric Cabaret theatre company (www.electriccabaret.co.uk), it’s suitable for all ages between 9 and 22. I know you’re a bit older than that, but if you wear a hoodie all week, and don’t say much apart from the odd mumble, I reckon you’d get away with it.
